If You Can't Beat Her, Join Her

A whole new meaning to the phrase, don't ya think? We were in a good place with Stella's paci-dependancy a couple of weeks ago. We were at the point where she only had it at home before 'night night', put it away without complaint, etc. etc... A series of crazy days, sickness, being away from home and it wasn't hard to re-establish and reinforce her addiction. It's gotten so bad that now I'm hooked. Wow. Pacis are severely underrated if you ask me.

Happy Birthday Stella!!! (Part 1)

We had a bit of a celebration extravaganza weekend. Flew to Indy on 5/22 for a long weekend to celebrate the following:
  1. Nana's 60th Birthday
  2. Jenna's HS Graduation
  3. Stella's 2nd Birthday
This was made extra fun and extra special as Nana and Jenna had no idea that we and Kristy were coming. Similarly, don't think Stella had a clue that she'd be celebrating her 2nd birthday with Nana, Bampi, Kristy and the Willis. The only wrinkle of this weekend was that Stella was pretty sick through the trip so she was a bit (or very) cranky and clingy.

As we were flying back on her actual birthday, we celebrated the night before with cupcakes and candles. We sang "Happy Birthday" about 26 times. Unbeknownst to her parents, Stella somehow developed a knack for blowing out candles and wanted us to repeat the singing, the blowing, the clapping and yayyying. This was the 1st highlight of her trip. The 2nd was her trip to the zoo right before we flew home. She continues today to talk about her ride on the horsey and seeing elephants, bears, tigers (Oh my!). After we got home, she got a present from her east coast grandparents (personalized arm chair). A few days later, she's received her parents' gift (Kettler trike). Needless to say, Stella believes that everyday is her birthday. Who can blame her? Happy birthday to our little girl.
